BRICK THE BANK?

In time for the movie’s release on July 17, let’s take a look at Lego Marvel Super Heroes Ant-Man Final Battle set, item 76039. Check out our time-lapse build, and our review and rating of the set.

EYE-CATCHER

It’s a pretty small set (no pun intended). Small set = small box. If you get distracted by either The Avengers Tower or Hulkbuster sets, you’ll probably miss this one on the shelves.

There are three brand new minifigs: Ant-Man, Yellowjacket, and Hank Pym in a black/red Ant-Man suit. The giant winged ant, and the “Lego catapult” gives us the perspective of our characters in their shrunken-down state.

NECK-BREAKER

You rarely get any technical or challenging builds with a small set like this. However, this set is still a lot of fun to build. It may not be a true neck-breaker by our standards, but the set delivers enough to satisfy your quick-build needs. We’re straddling the middle line for this criteria. Technically, the set falls short on difficulty, but big on the experience.

PLAY OR DISPLAY

This definitely falls under the play-set category for Lego sets. Ant-Man’s flying ant has an articulated head, abdomen, and wings. Yellowjacket’s suit is equipped with two stud shooters. The catapult shoots Lego bolts, and it even comes with the actual human-sized version of the two brick parts. So all three characters can fight in two different size perspectives. And of course, it will not be an action set without the Super Jumper. Add all these to your own Thomas train-set, and you can remake the film’s trailer yourself.

BRICK THE BANK?

The three new minifigs are enough reasons to pick up this set. It updates your Lego Avengers roster, and gets you pumped to see the movie. Cost per piece is at standard, with 183 pieces at $19.99 USD. Overall, Ant-Man Final Battle is a good pick-up.
